Our Mission
The mission of the Center for Human Genetics at the BRI is to discover genetic variations that underlie, influence, and cause disease and to use this knowledge for prevention and treatment while providing a voice for the human genetics research community at BWH.
The Center is composed of Brigham & Women’s Hospital geneticists specializing in a wide variety of niches including disease and population genetics, model systems, epidemiology, pharmacogenetics, translational genetics, diagnostics, statistical genetics, sequence-based platforms and technologies, and genetics education and counseling. The Center aims to catalyze the process of making BWH a national & international leader in the use of genetic & genomic information/discoveries to treat patients and promote better health care.
