The Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) Division of Podiatry specializes in treating foot and ankle disorders, both medically and surgically. Our podiatrists are keenly aware of how treating the feet and ankles relates to patients’ total health care needs – always keeping this in mind as they work with the patient to find the best treatment option.
We specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of the entire spectrum of feet and ankle disorders, including soft tissue and muscular pathologies; arthritis, circulatory and neurological disease; and nail disorders, calluses, corns and ingrown toenails.
Podiatry Services
The Division of Podiatry offers a wide variety of services for treating the foot and ankle. Listed below are some of our specialty areas:
- Outpatient (hospital) surgery for bunions, hammertoes and neuromas.
- In-office surgery for ingrown nails and warts.
- Sports Medicine: foot surgery, orthotics, cuts, blisters, pronation – sometimes presenting as shin splints, arch pain, hammertoes.
- Foot injuries: sprained ankles, foot fractures.
- Dermatological: ingrown nails, calluses, nail deformities, fungus nails, ulcerations, athlete's foot and foot infections.
- Diabetic and arthritic foot care.
- Qualified second opinions regarding surgery.
- Work-related foot injury.

Appointments
We see all patients on an appointment basis and we request that you call in advance so that we can reserve time for you. The office telephone number is (617) 732-5391. We make every effort to honor all time commitments and request that you extend the same courtesy to us. On occasion, emergencies can cause problems, and whenever possible you will be fully informed if there will be any delays.
Emergencies
Emergencies always receive priority. If you have an emergency, call our office any time. However, the earlier you call in the day, the easier it is to work you into the day's schedule. When the office is open, the receptionist or assistant will tell you what to do. When the office is closed, please telephone (617) 732-6660 and ask the page operator to page your doctor. A staff member will return your call and initiate appropriate instructions.
