The Brigham and Women’s Hospital Cartilage Repair Center (CRC) is internationally recognized as one of the leading institutions for the treatment of cartilage damage and early arthritis in the knee, and continues to be among the busiest cartilage transplant centers in the nation. The CRC was founded over a decade ago as the first U.S. center solely dedicated to the treatment of cartilage damage.
The Cartilage Repair Center’s reputation for expert, innovative, and successful care draws patients from around the world and from all walks of life. We carefully examine each patient’s condition and goals to select the treatment option that best matches the physical demands of the patient’s lifestyle. We do everything possible to treat men and women who are 15 years and older, whether they’re simply seeking to walk comfortably or return to competitive sports.
The Center’s clinical staff is committed to not only repairing each patient’s cartilage damage, but also carefully determining and correcting the underlying causes of their knee damage, such as misalignment, ligament instability or loss of meniscal function. This thorough approach has helped us maximize the long-term success rates of our procedures.
